IUH is among the best universities in Asia 26-11-2020
The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS - UK) has announced the QS Asia University Rankings 2021, including the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and ten other universities in Vietnam.
This year, Vietnam has 11 universities ranked among 650 universities rated by QS as the best in the Asia region, three more institutions than 2020, including Vietnam National University (VNU) - Ho Chi Minh City, VNU - Hanoi, Ton Duc Thang University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Duy Tan University, Hue University, Danang University, Can Tho University, Hanoi National University of Education, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and University of Economics - Ho Chi Minh City.
For the first time, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City appeared in the QS Asia rankings with the 601 + rank. This is also the first school of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be ranked by QS.
According to statistics, Vietnam has 237 universities, and so far, only 4.64% of universities in the country are listed in the QS's Asian regional rankings. Especially, among the 11 universities, there are three universities first time listed in the QS Asia best university ranking. Precisely, the Hanoi National University of Education ranked 551-600, both the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City ranked 601+. IUH is also the first school of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be ranked by the QS.
Among 11 Vietnam universities in the ranking this year, many schools have dropped in ranking. The VNU - Ho Chi Minh City ranked 158 (down 15 places compared to 2020: 143), the VNU - Hanoi ranked 160 (down 13 places compared to 2020: 147), the Hanoi University of Science and Technology ranked 301- 350 (down from 2020 is: 261-270), and the Can Tho University ranked 451-500 (decreased from 450 to 401).

Thereby they can help to establish IUH's position in QS's Asian University Rankings in the future.
The QS ranks universities based on 11 criteria with different weights including: academic reputation (30%); reputation of employers (20%); proportion of lecturers and students (10%); percentage of lecturers with doctoral degrees (5%); index of citations on articles (10%); international research network (10%); international lecturers (2.5%); international students (2.5%); foreign exchange students (2.5%) ...
