IUH students join hands to fight COVID-19 12-08-2021
While the medical team in Hochiminh City is struggling in COVID-19 hotspots, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (IUH) sends nearly 300 students who do not mind difficulties to join volunteer teams to support covid-19 prevention.
Responding to the call of all levels of government, a large number of IUH students have registered to participate in vaccination software supporters, vaccination site supporters and other volunteering supporters. Despite danders in fighting against COVID-19, with the enthusiasm of the youth, the belief and the desire to contribute, IUH students always make efforts in completing the assigned work.
Volunteers are trained in skills before performing their tasks.
In mid-July, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Hung – Director of the Center for System Management (IUH) developed the Immunization Management System software to support the vaccination points in Go Vap District. The highlight of the system is the scheduling feature to divide the number of people registering for vaccination according to each time frame and capacity of the vaccination sites. This helps people not to wait long, ensuring to keep their distance according to the 5K recommendation of the Ministry of Health. In addition, the software also integrates identification code scanning technology to save time comparing and checking lists. Immediately after the development, IUH students quickly trained to widely deploy the software at vaccination sites in the area. Immunization software is considered the key to making vaccination organization highly effective and ensuring the people safety

After being vaccinated, on July 22, IUH volunteers set off to the vaccination sites in Go Vap district to serve the organization of vaccination. At the immunization sites, the IUH volunteer team will support doctors to guide, stream, measure temperature, support data entry and medical declaration for people. Thanks to the help of IUH students, the vaccination in Go Vap district took place quickly, ensuring the people safety.

There are also student teams volunteering to support the quarantine areas as well as the blockade areas. The students will be in charge of going to the market, buying necessities to help the people, in order to ensure the life of the people. Not only in Ho Chi Minh City, IUH students also support the locality where they live. As student Le Van Quy (Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology) had the idea of "Green Shipper Team – Tan Thanh Commune, Ben Tre". Quí and other Youth Union members set up a support team for people in the commune, received orders from the people and went to buy households, delivered to the house essential items such as food, medicine ... to stabilize the life of everyone in Tan Thanh commune.

Without hestitation in hardships, and with pioneering spirit, the youth of IUH students have been showing part of the responsibility of Young People and Union Members in the difficult epidemic period, which is also the spirit of solidarity and sharing in difficult times of Vietnamese people.
