Workshop "Solutions to promote the formation of start-up enterprises from intellectual property exploitation activities at universities and research institutes" 03-12-2021
Implementing the Master Plan to organize the National Innovation Startup Festival 2021 (Techfest) approved by the Leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, on December 3, 2021, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Department of Intellectual Property, National University of Economics and Hong Duc University (Thanh Hoa) organized a blended workshop with the theme "Solutions to promote the formation of start-up enterprises from intellectual property exploitation activities at universities and research institutes".
Attendees included Mr. Đinh Hữu Phí - Director of The Department of Intellectual Property, Ms. Dam Sao Mai - Vice Rector of IUH. Mr. Bui Van Dung, Rector of Hong Duc University, Mr. Nguyen Hai Minh – Director of Kochu Co., Ltd. (HCMC) Ho Xuan Vinh– Director of Hồ Hoàn Cầu Co., Ltd. (Nghe An) and more than 60 guests, lecturers and students.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Đinh Hữu Phí, representative of the Department of Intellectual Property said that the COVID-19 epidemic has been and will be unpredictable, affecting the creative start-up path of businesses. It is high time for startups to research and develop intellectual property, bring to the market to respond promptly to requirements in the new situation.

At the workshop, the speakers discussed regarding the perspective from policy to reality, successful experience and failure in promoting innovation and exploitation of intellectual property in universities and research institutes; discuss solutions to promote the formation of start-up enterprises from the commercialization of intellectual property rights in universities and research institutes.
