Welcome K21: A Vibrant Orientation Week for New Students at IUH 17-09-2025

Based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training on organizing the “Orientation Week for New Students” at universities and colleges, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) has launched the program for Cohort 21. This annual event holds significant importance as it equips first-year students with essential knowledge about legal regulations, academic policies, and student affairs, while also fostering a sense of responsibility, rights, and civic duties in a university environment.

A Orientation Week for IUH’s feshmen

This year’s program took place from September 3 to September 15 at the E4 and A7 auditoriums, as well as across various faculties and institutes throughout the university. In addition to in-person sessions, the faculty also hosted two online sessions to provide career orientation and help students quickly grasp the characteristics of their chosen majors.

The content of the orientation week for new students was designed to be diverse and closely aligned with students’ needs. Faculties and institutes introduced details about academic programs, credit-based training regulations, scholarship policies, and dual-degree options. They also guided students on how to use the library and learning resources, provided information on student union and club activities, healthcare services, and IUH’s official communication channels. These are essential pieces of information that enable first-year students to take initiative in their studies, research, and campus life.

Notably, students also had the opportunity to participate in engaging workshops on soft skills, scientific research methods, and career orientation delivered by experts from both Vietnam and abroad, including France and Malaysia. These sessions not only broadened their international perspectives but also motivated students to start shaping their goals and personal development paths throughout their university journey.

After the sharing sessions by lecturers and experts, Cohort 21 students eagerly raised questions to clarify their concerns.

Beyond the academic and orientation content, the atmosphere in the auditorium became even more exciting thanks to impressive welcome performances by Cohort 21 students. The youthful, creative, and distinctive performances left a memorable mark on their first days at university. It was also an opportunity for students to showcase their unity, dynamism, and confidence — essential qualities of an IUH student.

Many vibrant performances welcomed IUH’s feshmen.

The Orientation Week for New Students is not merely an information session; it is also a valuable period for feshmen to familiarize themselves with their new learning environment and connect with lecturers and peers. More importantly, it serves as the first piece of “baggage” — a strong foundation that will help Cohort 21 confidently embark on their academic journey, personal growth, and future success at IUH.
