The 5th Young Science Conference – 2023 with the theme "Young Intellectuals in the Digital Era" 26-11-2023
In recent times, scientific research activities at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) have exhibited significant progress, marked by a consistent improvement in the scale, quality, and quantity of research projects. The instrumental role played by the young research team, comprising students, postgraduate learners, and lecturers, cannot be overstated in contributing to this success.
Under the theme "Young intellectuals in the digital era," IUH organized the 5th Young Scientists Conference in 2023 with the aim of fostering the engagement of young students, postgraduate learners, and lecturers in scientific research. The overarching goal is to develop scientific and technological products that enrich daily life, thereby reinforcing the pivotal role of young intellectuals in the digital age.
The conference was attended by notable figures such as Comrade To Minh Hieu – Deputy Director of the Youth Department of the City Youth School, Committee Commissioner, and Head of the City Students' Union Inspection Committee. Representing IUH were key figures including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Sao Mai – Party member and Vice Rector of the school; Dr. Le Ngoc Son - Party member, President of the University's Union, and Director of the Institute of International and Postgraduate Training; Mr. Bui Dinh Tien – Deputy Head of the Science Management and International Affairs Office; Comrade Huynh Phu Vinh – Party Member and Secretary of the School Union. The conference saw a significant turnout, including teachers, leaders of units, departments, faculties, institutes, and training centers across the university, as well as representatives from other city schools, press agencies, researchers, and enthusiastic young scientists.
Commencing in February 2023, after more than nine months of implementation, the Organizing Committee received 680 abstracts and 395 full texts for conference participation. Among them, 236 were deemed satisfactory and included in the yearbook. The total number of authors contributing to these articles was 1,414, encompassing 182 lecturers, 1,174 students and graduate students of the University, 3 international students, and 55 lecturers and students from other schools.
The conference also featured the selection of 69 posters for display and 25 reports for presentation across five councils, each focusing on distinct areas: Economy; Humanities and Social Sciences; Chemistry – Biology – Food – Environment; Electrical - Electronics - Information Technology; Mechanical - Construction - Dynamics - Heat and Refrigeration.

On the morning of November 25, 2023, the E4 hall hosted the solemn opening session of the conference, drawing nearly 400 scientists, lecturers, and students. The event was graced by the presence of teachers from the Party Committee – Rector Board, professional advisors, deputy heads of training units, as well as young students and researchers. Following the opening speech, the organizers recognized the Faculty of Business Administration with the highest number of submitted articles, presenting them with an award for their outstanding contribution of 49 articles.

During the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Sao Mai – Vice Rector of the University, expressed her joy regarding the successful management and organization of the conference by the Ho Chi Minh People's Delegation and commended the high quality of the presented research works. "I am optimistic that this conference will serve as a platform for our university's staff, lecturers, and students, along with coordinating units, to maximize their scientific potential in the near future. The enthusiastic spirit and passion exhibited by our young staff, lecturers, and students are truly commendable. I am confident that, following the conference, the organizing committee will be able to select outstanding articles for publication in the school's scientific journal," he remarked.

As part of the program's agenda, guests and attendees will have the opportunity to listen to two insightful presentations. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Deputy Dean responsible for the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, will deliver a presentation titled "Promoting the Role of Scientific Research in Building a Startup University." Additionally, Dr. Bui Dang Hung, a Lecturer at the Institute of Environmental Science, Engineering, and Management within the same university, will present on the topic "Application of Remote Sensing and GIS in Monitoring Urban Expansion in Binh Duong Province.

This marks the 5th iteration of the conference, and the professional advisory council has expressed highly positive feedback on the quality of submissions. Numerous innovative topics have been highlighted, demonstrating strong applicability and a notable potential for commercialization, particularly within applied domains.
Following the opening session, authors will commence their presentations at 13:30 on the same day. They will engage with subcommittees organized by field, including Economics, Electrical - Electronics - Information Technology, Mechanical - Construction - Automotive - Heat and Refrigeration, Chemistry - Biology - Food - Environment, and Social Sciences and Humanities.
