InnoGreenLife 2024 Finals at IUH: Prize Pool Reaches 1.2 Billion VND 01-06-2025
After nearly a year of dynamic competition, InnoGreenLife 2024 concluded with an impressive final round at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH). The event attracted numerous talented teams and received strong business support, with a total sponsorship value of up to 1.2 billion VND.
First Prize: "Facial Recognition-Based Attendance System with User Geolocation" (Project representative: Vo Tat Thien, Faculty of Information Technology)
On the morning of May 31, IUH's Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Technology Transfer hosted the Final Round of InnoGreenLife 2024 – Innovation for Green Living. It is now in its fourth year as the university's largest startup and innovation competition for students.
The event was honored to welcome:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Sao Mai – IUH Vice Rector, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Ngoc Nam – Head of the Department of Science Management and International Cooperation, Head of the Organizing Committee
- Ms. Le Thi Be Ba – Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Startup Hub (SIHUB)
- Alongside representatives of partnering and sponsoring companies.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Sao Mai and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Ngoc Nam presented appreciation certificates to SIHUB and the corporate sponsors.
A Year of Creativity Culminates in Excellence
Launched in October 2024, the competition attracted over 70 proposals, progressing through the Idea Pitch and Semifinal Rounds, ultimately selecting the Top 10 teams for the grand finale. These teams showcased their ideas with confidence, creativity, and ambition, receiving high praise from the organizers, businesses, and the broader community.

Plant-Based Fresh Cream Beverage Production – Huynh Thai Nguyet, Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology
Business Model for Honey Dryers using Heat Pumps & Ultrasonic Technology – Bui Quoc Vu, Faculty of Thermal Engineering
- Encouragement Awards: Given to the remaining four teams in the Top 10.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Dh Foods, praised the student teams' high level of creativity.
Nurturing Entrepreneurship and Innovation
In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Sao Mai stated:
"Universities are the cradle of scientific research and innovation. entrepreneurship, creativity, and a business mindset is a key training component. At IUH, we have implemented various initiatives to support this spirit—InnoGreenLife is a concrete example."
The success of InnoGreenLife 2024 was made possible by the vital contributions of sponsors, social organizations, and especially the professional mentorship provided by the Ecotech Community – Techfest Vietnam. These partnerships elevated the competition and opened development opportunities for promising teams.
Through this competition, IUH again reinforced its role as a connector between education, research, business, and the community. It contributed to of a green startup ecosystem within the university and supported potential business models from the idea stage to commercialization.
